Beta-Carotene
Beta-carotene has been used in high doses over several years without a single reported adverse effect. Some individuals develop a yellowing of the skin called cawtenodermia, but this is totally benign and reverses completely once the beta-carotene is reduced or discontinued.

The study claims to have analyzed a collection of previous studies on vitamin a, beta carotene, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and selenium, concluding that most of the nutrients are actually dangerous to human health. Hypervitaminosis A occurs when the level of the fat-soluble vitamin a is excessively high in the blood, leading to hair loss, arthritis-like symptoms, liver problems, and other serious symptoms; Hypervitaminosis A may be the result of using too many vitamin a supplements, or taking excessive amounts of cod liver oil which contains high levels of vitamin a. To achieve some of the higher quantities of omega-3 fatty acids described in this book, it could be potentially dangerous to use cod liver oil, since vitamin a could rise to a dangerous level. |

These synthetic vitamins – which are really just industrial chemicals – may be called "Vitamin E" or "Vitamin A" or even "Vitamin C" but they have no functional resemblance to the real vitamins that occur in nature. Every single study over the past two decades that has sought to discredit Vitamin E, for example, focused on using synthetic Vitamin E in order to show harm. It is curious that no researcher from the world of conventional medicine will ever test the natural, full-spectrum vitamins, nutrients and phytochemicals that appear in nature. You know why? |

| The most common antioxidants are vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin a, and beta-carotene. We can obtain numerous other antioxidants from our food; these include coenzyme Q10, alpha-lipoic acid, and the colorful bioflavanoid antioxidants. It is important to realize that antioxidants work in synergy with one another to disarm free radicals in different areas of the body. Like the varied positions of military defense, these antioxidants each have specific roles. Some antioxidants have the ability to actually regenerate other antioxidants so they can neutralize more free radicals. |

But what they are not saying is that it may be a 200% relative increase in mortality risk, depending on the baseline absolute mortality numbers. So if only 0. |

A lot of people will go out and buy a supplement with just vitamin a in it, for instance. vitamin a needs zinc in order to work well. What happens is people start buying three, four or five supplement bottles trying to put together a good profile of nutrients for their pet. We have all that in the mega pet daily. So, all we recommend adding to the mega pet daily is vitamin C. There is only 250 milligrams in the mega daily, which is enough to make the other minerals work, but you need 1,000 to 4,000 milligrams a day, depending on the size of the animal. |

We have grape seed extract in there. The reason is that grape seed extract is one of the best collagen cross-linkers known. You get weakened blood vessels when you get glycation of the proteins because you have high blood sugar all the time. If you can cross-link those proteins and collagen, you are going to prevent the blood vessels from just deteriorating. That is some of the design logic that goes into a product like Diabetes Defense.
